You will receive a UK Nomi-mobile sim card (smart card) with £5 calling credit.  You will receive a UK cell phone number (for others to call you) and its account number and pass code (for account maintenance).  The Nomi-Sim allows you to enjoy low cost UK & International calls, from as little as 3p per minute. Nomi’s unique Home-talking service also allows you to dial into your account from any phone (landline or mobile) for rates from 1p per minute.

Requirement:

You will prepare an unlocked GSM handset with 900 and/or 1800 MHz bands.  If your handset is locked, and you have been with your current mobile operator for few months, you can ask them to unlocked it for you before you come to UK.  Most likely they will unlock it for you.  If you don't have such a handset, we can rent you one for as little as US$20 for two weeks.  See our handset rental product.

 

Rates (SUPER SUPER RATES):

a. Calling from cell phone, direct dial.

You will put the sim card in your cell phone, and then dial 00+country code+area code + phone number directly.  Easy dialing and low rates.  Example: From UK to UK landline, 5p/min; from UK to UK mobile 10p/min; from UK to US landline and cell 5p/min; from UK to Taiwan landline 6p/min; from UK to Taiwan mobile 10p/min

b. Home talking (use it like a regular global calling card to get an even better rate)

This feature is done via a regular phone or Skype account.  You will

• Dial the free access number 0800 008 6805* or 020 8090 0275**
• Enter your account or mobile number and PIN
• When you hear the dial tone, enter the number you wish to call, including the country and area codes.

TIP: you can use Skype to make free call to nomi's access number (+448000086805), and from there, you can use Nomi-mobile's account to make cheap calls to UK mobile phones from anywhere in the world!

Example: from Taiwan to UK mobile is only 10p/min, which is about 5 NTD/min, compared to 8-20 NTD/min if you use other methods, including skype, to call.

Ways of top-ups

1. Go to local gas station, post office, drug store, super market etc to buy top-ups.  They are available in over 90,000 stores in UK.

2. Shop on line www.aerobile.com for Nomi-mobile top-up codes.  Once you have the top-up code,

• Call 321 from your cell phone and you'll be immediately
  directed to the appropriate menu for top ups.

3. Register your credit card (UK issued card only) with Nomi-mobile, and begin online top-ups.

Call 325 toll free from your nomi-mobile mobile phone or 0845 872 0125 from any phone (toll applies).

Service expiry

Nomi's sims will expire if unused for 180 days, which is much better than other UK operators.  As long as you use it or do a top up at least once every 180 days, you can continue to keep your UK cell phone number.
